Learning To Let Go

I was just reading one of my favorite books when I came across a well-known Alcoholics Anonymous prayer. The message is so straightforward and strong that I felt it would be appropriate to share it with you:

“Lord, grant me the courage to change what can and should be changed, the serenity to accept what cannot be changed, and the knowledge to recognize the difference.”

The majority of undesirable feelings in life stem from the frustration of concentrating on things over which we have no control. We will never be able to instantaneously eliminate difficult circumstances or regulate the behavior of others.

We will feel disappointed and upset if we continue to concentrate on these issues. There is just one thing over which we have complete control: our attitude toward the circumstance and what we DO about it.

Look for the solution rather than the issue. And for the things you can’t alter, set aside some time each day to focus on yourself, cultivating acceptance and tolerance.

That’s all for now.

Thank you and best regards,
